Governor SC Jamir appears to have managed what days of negotiations could not: pushed the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) towards closing a deal.

The Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) appeared closer to striking a power-sharing deal on Tuesday following an ultimatum by Governor S.C. Jamir.

Army officials have located Andhra Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's helicopter 40 kilometres from Kurnool, on top of a hill. Air Forces officials are not sure whether the chopper had crashed.
