Imphal, July 31: Nambul Mapal Athletic and Cultural Organisation held Thangmeiband Athletic Union to a 1-1 goal draw in the Imphal West S. Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament at THAU ground today.

Nambul Mapal took to the field for the first time in seven years and were pitted against Thangmeiband Athletic Union to split a point each. N. Dhanajit Singh chipped in with a goal for Nambul Mapal. Thangmeiband Athletic Union fetched the equaliser as Dinpa let loose a stunning left footer right in the goalmouth.

In another match, Young Physique Union and Sagolband United came to a draw.

Imphal East First Division: Progressive Youth Association overcame Yairipok DOAK by 2-1 goals in the Imphal East M. Ibobi Singh First Division Football League Tournament at Khuman Lampak sports complex. Md Multim and Md Sultan Aziz scored for Progressive Youth while Basanta fetched for Yairipok. In another match, Potshangbam YDC blanked Rising Athletic Union by 3-0 goals with Naocha Singh striking two goals. Rising Athletic Union player Roxen conceded an own goal.

Coaches: The AMFA had deputed K. Momocha Singh and S. Sarat Singh as coaches for the Football Development Programme for under-12 and under-14 boys and girls organised by DSA Senapati.

Selected: The All Manipur Football Association had informed the five under-14 players M. Dheeraj Singh, M. Jayananda Singh, T. Kishan Singh, L. Loyangamba Singh and L. Debeshor Singh, who have been selected by the AIFF for its Calcutta-based Pailan Academy to report at the AMFA on or before August 5.
