    Mayawati muisused funds for rural health, says PM

    Kanpur, Feb 17 (IANS) Attacking the Mayawati government ahead of the fourth phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday charged it with misusing the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) funds as well as neglecting development.

    Addressing an election rally in this Uttar Pradesh city, Manmohan Singh said the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government was facing many allegations of corruption.

    Noting that the central government had provided assistance to the state government under the NRHM so that health facilities reach villages, the prime minister said: "It is very sad that the important scheme has been misused in Uttar Pradesh."

    The Rs.10,000 crore NRHM scam in Uttar Pradesh involving alleged financial irregularities in the supply of medicines and medical equipment is being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

    Two chief medical officers, a deputy chief medical officer and a project manager linked to the scam were found dead and police said Thursday that a health department official, missing since Feb 7, had also been found dead.

    Manmohan Singh said only the Congress, under guidance of Sonia Gandhi, could provide a government in Uttar Pradesh which improves agriculture, employment and educational facilities.

    He said the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government had provided all possible assistance to Uttar Pradesh for its development.

    Citing examples, he said Rs.9,000 crore were provided to the state under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana for building and improving rural roads and another Rs.24,000 crore for road projects.

    He said new rail services had been added connecting Kanpur.

    Referring to special package by the central government for Bundelkhand, the prime minister said Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi had played an important role in its implementation.

    He, however, alleged that the state government had not fully used the package.

    The prime minister also charged the government with not paying attention to problems of farmers.

    The fourth phase of assembly polls in the state across 56 constituencies will take place Feb 19.

      what central goverment agencies was doing till the election.are congress party was not aware of the nrhms curruption.congress has its share from the corruption.it is a match fixing arrangement between congress,bsp and sp.

      First of all Mr. maun manmohan should understand what he is doing in congress party, as he is heading the worlds most corrupt and unethical party..which is looted country's wealth with countless scams and piled up its Swiss accounts..

      and as far as the NRHM scam is concerned, it was continuing by past 2 decades and was masterminded by Congress itself, who used SP with some Medical officials to carry out the loot game.... Congress further tried to break BSP by getting hold of some of the greedy opportunists like Kushwaha who lined up with congress... rest is known to all that CM Mayawati started kicking everyone who she found culprit, a bold and courageous step indeed by this 'iron lady'.. and one thing every one knows very well in UP, if there is a crime.. it is somewhere connected with Samajwadi party ( and nourished by Congress..).

      and as fas as CM Mayawati's personality goes, UP people clearly understand that CM Mayawati is the best ever CM in UP and her tenure of past 5 years provided increased growth and developments (over 7% GDP), improvements in education, infrastructure, social harmony and strengthened the Law & order conditions in UP..

      The UP people are now Voting heavily to give a clear majority to BSP and looking towards the very positive side of modest CM Mayawati Ji, and understand that she is certainly far far ahead a towering personality and is 1000 times better than any mafia goon Mulayam singh running crime syndicates or a country-looter mother-son duo Sonia/Rahul...

      Manmohan Singh while you are always maun (silent) over the biggest scams and scandals done by your Congress-party-men , you have opened your mouth now only to be-fool the people. While as PM , you have worked only as a servant to 10 Janpath and did no meaningful service to your nation, you Mauni-baba , please explain to me as to when will you and your party leave this planet ? Please , let us live in peace.
