Motihari, Feb. 8: Dhaka MLA and founder chairman of non-government organisation (NGO) Ram Rahim Sena, Pawan Jaiswal, will arrange a mass wedding of 51 couples on the Dhaka High School ground on March 10.
When asked the reason behind the noble act, Jaiswal said many people cannot get married owing to socio-economic conditions.
The event is aimed at addressing that problem.
Jaiswal has appealed to public representatives and others to inform organisers of the marriage through written applications regarding girls (above 18 years) whose marriages have been delayed.
The NGO would select the grooms for the girls.
Jaiswal told The Telegraph: "Besides arrang- ing traditional and proper rituals for the couples, we will gift each couple a cheque of Rs 11,000 as well as essential items to start a married life."
