Manipur Militants hurl grenade at municipal councillor's residence

Imphal, Oct.21 (ANI): The residence of the municipality commissioner in Imphal West District in Manipur came under attack over the weekend, when militants hurled a grenade at the building.

The grenade, however, failed to explode, official sources said here on Sunday.

Police said that they were able to defuse the grenade that was thrown into the residential compound of Imphal West Municipal Commissioner Soiraisam Binarani in the Thangmeiband area.

Police said they would investigate whether militants had made monetary demands on Binarani. (ANI)
