Man U oppose Gary Neville's dream hotel next to Old Trafford

London, Feb 18 (ANI): Manchester United are reluctant to allow Gary Neville to build his luxury hotel next to Old Trafford.

United top brass had originally welcomed plans for the ten-storey building on Sir Matt Busby Way, describing it as "a very exciting project" which would "greatly enhance the skyline".

But now they have lodged a five-page document urging local councillors to throw out the ambitious scheme.

"We do not want a building of that size so close to the stadium," the Sun quoted a spokesman as saying.

Former United ace Neville, who is also an ambassador for the club since hanging up his boots, was planning a 139-bedroom hotel and leisure complex.

He wants to restrict its use to supporters' club members while United bosses want it open to the general public. There are also concerns about parking. (ANI)
