London, Oct 4(ANI): Controversial batsman Kevin Pietersen must prove he can reintegrate in the England squad after he was given another chance by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to resurrect his international career, according to sports journalist Dean Wilson.
Wilson believes Pietersen must make a point to his doubters that he won't be the disruptive force in the England dressing room's harmony and must work on improving his relations with senior members of the team like Graeme Swann, Jimmy Anderson, and Matthew Prior, among others.
"ECB prisoner No.626 was released on -probation yesterday and he will now try to re-integrate himself into cricket society. Also known as Kevin Pietersen, he will be under the watchful eye of parole officer Andy Flower, who will report any misdemeanour to ECB governor Giles Clarke," Wilson wrote in his article for the Daily Mirror.
"Pietersen has four months in which to prove he is no longer a disruption in the dressing room he hopes to inhabit as soon as possible, most likely the Test tour to India," he added.
"In the meantime he will play for the Delhi Daredevils in the Champions League, during which he will also fly back to the UK to meet with other free members of the England team to try to win back their trust," he further wrote.
Wilson added: "Essentially Pietersen has been publicly humbled and humiliated, dropped from the team for a Test and a global tournament, for pushing people too far and having a bad attitude."
"He has to show his attitude towards playing for England has changed. He has to show, not just say, that he is committed to the cause and will engage wholeheartedly in the team philosophy," he wrote
"Flower can only test this on tour and under the pressure that comes with playing, so expect to see him added to the Test party for India and then the real challenge will begin," he concluded. (ANI)
