Škoda Auto India registers 89 percent growth in June

Škoda Auto India registered a growth of 89 percent for June 2012 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for June 2012 stood at 4,923 units against 2610 units for June 2011. Thomas Kuehl, Brand Head, Member of the Board & Director, Sales & Marketing, Škoda Auto India said, “The fluctuating market conditions have dampened sentiment across the industry, however, we have managed to edge the market by growing 89 percent against the same period last year. The Rapid has been the growth driver and is an important part of our success story. The value for money proposition that the Rapid offers in the segment has been crucial to the products acceptance. The launch of the Superb Ambition further added to consolidation in the D segment.’

Today, India is being considered as an important centre of growth since the company’s entry in the Indian market more than ten years ago. Under its “2018 Growth Strategy”, Škoda aims to increase its global sales to at least 1.5 million per year.

Škoda is working on their dealership network and after-sales service to enhance customer experience while reaching out to a larger section of customers across the country. Škoda currently has 106 dealerships in India.
