Katy Perry desires to emulate Madonna evolving style

London, June 23 (ANI): Katy Perry, who clearly prefers to keep up an ever-changing image with her array of playful kitschy style stage outfits and rainbow of hair colours, has revealed that she is keen to follow the evolving style of Madonna.

The 27-year-old singer appears on the cover of this months' Italian L'Uomo Vogue magazine sporting short curly blonde hair.

"I think Madonna, especially early in his career, when she was laying the foundations of her character, has been able to evolve constantly, managing to give the audience at every appearance a new visual interpretation and concept of herself," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.

"She was able to keep up the interest of the people, because you never knew with what she would come out with the next time.

"And, regularly, has offered a solid and consistent musical product.

"I hope to do the same, to make sure that people continue to be interested in me and in ten years, to find out, looking back, I have produced songs that will never be forgotten," she said.

The star is making good progress in doing just that, with her last album 'Teenage Dream' becoming only the second album after Michael Jackson's 'Bad', to spawn five number one singles in the U.S Billboard charts.

Katy, who split from husband Russell Brand last year, says, like Madonna, her style will continue to evolve.

"My sense of style is like one of those rings that change colour with mood, always evolving. When I get up, I choose my outfit depending on my mood.

"If it is a "mixture of many things it is because I feel many different emotions at the same time, to the point where you feel you almost have a split personality," she added.

The latest magazine cover shows her wearing an embroidered jacket and a white shirt adorned with a variety of broaches, while she pouts for the camera. (ANI)
