Kareena or Asin - Who will maintain the 100 crore club stance?

By Joginder Tuteja, Glamsham Editorial

Asin v/s Kareena battle is intensifying. While it is a known fact that both the leading ladies are sitting pretty at four films each that have scored a century at the box-office, their progress would be looked at quite closely before end of this year. Reason being that both Asin and Kareena have one more release before end of the year that could either make either of the two take a lead or maintain a draw.

After all, Kareena would be seen as a central protagonist in an author backed HEROINE while Asin would be happy finding herself in a quintessential 'masala' entertain space all over again with KHILADI 786. While one waits to see if both or any of these films also enter the 100 crore club, one thing is for sure that Asin has fairly and squarely maintained her position in the big league.

"League and all is one talk but at the end of the day it is about doing your job right and be satisfied with the day that has been spent making a film," she maintains a diplomatic stance here, "Yes, numbers do convey that people find you entertaining enough to come and spend money on your films. That of course is heartening and you do wish to keep the momentum on."

Meanwhile she is keeping a practical stance on the state of affairs and also attributes the boom in Bollywood as well as emergence of dozens of multiplexes in various parts of the country for the speedy collections that films in general are showing at the box-office.

"Number of people who are watching Hindi films has also increased tremendously. Of course your film definitely needs to be good but then another major factor that comes into play is luck. Without that you can't really score a success in spite of the best of the intentions that you may be carrying," she smiles before signing off.
