Kabir Khan: We didn't design EK THA TIGER for any goals

Theatrical run of EK THA TIGER has come to an end after netting close to 200 crores. Now that the film's DVD is out, the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer is looking at making inroads into audience's living rooms. Meanwhile director Kabir Khan is happy with whatever the film has achieved and moved on.

"I will be honest; I am not a numbers person at all. I always maintained this before the release of the film and even now. We didn't design EK THA TIGER for any goals. Adi (Aditya Chopra) and I were clear that we had to be true to the core idea of the film. We knew that once we did that and the film was accepted by a large audience, numbers would come by themselves. 100, 150, 200, 250 crores - there was no way we could have predicted the distance that it would have travelled," says Kabir who is now finding himself at the top of the league, what with his film being second only to 3 IDIOTS, the highest grossing film ever from Bollywood.

"I do feel though that a number can't be the only parameter," he further reasons, "To think of it, some of my favourite films in the last few years haven't even belonged to the 100 crore club. It is an individual's choice at the end of the day and if EK THA TIGER has been liked by people and even fetched good numbers; it is a win-win situation, isn't it?"

With the kind of range that he has shown in NEW YORK and KABUL EXPRESS as well, one looks forward to what Kabir has up his sleeves now, something that could further result in a win-win situation.
