John Abraham thrilled with clash averted between RACE 2 and SHOOTOUT AT WADALA

John Abraham is a relieved man. Though he was going through a few nervous moments till last week, what with the makers of both RACE 2 and SHOOTOUT AT WADALA being sure about releasing the two films together, the fact that latter has now decided to move ahead, hence averting the clash, is music to his ears.

"John is a key protagonist in both the films and since 26th January next year is a long weekend due to Republic Day holiday, Abbas-Mustan as well as Sanjay Gupta were eyeing that day for release. Since shooting of both biggies is taking place at breakneck speed, the clash was inevitable. However that would have left John in a fix since he couldn't afford to have two of his films release on the same day," informs a common source.

He was heard requesting the makers to sort it out between themselves but for quite some time there was a standoff. That did result in some tense moments for John because with a good year so far in the form of HOUSEFULL 2 and VICKY DONOR (as producer), he wanted to play his new innings carefully.

"SHOOTOUT AT WADALA was earlier planned for December release and it had moved ahead since TALAASH was postponed. It required some real persuasion for Ekta Kapoor and Sanjay Gupta but now they have decided to come on an even better date. 1st May is the chosen date since it's the World Labour Day and would be a holiday. Moreover since it falls on a Wednesday, the film would now enjoy a nine day weekend for itself," the source confirms.

Another man who would be happy too is ` since he too is the common element in RACE 2 and SHOOTOUT AT WADALA. When contacted, Tanuj Garg, CEO Balaji Motion Pictures confirmed that the film would indeed release on 1st May next year.
