Jenny McCarthy wanted to become nun as a child

London, Oct 5 (ANI): Jenny McCarthy, who has just released her book 'Bad Habits: Confessions of a Recovering Catholic,' describes her upbringing in a devout Catholic family on the south side of Chicago through her memoir.

The former Playboy Playmate, who wants to showcase both the saintly and sinful aspects of herself in the memoir, was in New York on Wednesday, signing copies of her book, the Daily Mail reported.

Mimicking the back cover of her book, she made a "bad girl" face for the cameras.

She then stood and posed sweetly, holding the "good girl" side of her book cover in one hand, which depicts McCarthy in a nun's habit.

"I was taught to believe that my goal in life was to do good things so that I could ensure my place in heaven," the model and actress wrote in the Chicago Sun-Times.

"So, it was only logical in my young innocent mind that I should become a nun - and guarantee my spot to hang out with Jesus and his buddies," she wrote.

It was only when she discovered that nuns do not have children that McCarthy decided to change course with her intended career, she said.

"I knew in my soul that even though I wanted to go to heaven, I yearned to be a mom more than anything in the world.

"Even though I didn't become a nun and have done my fair share of sinning, I've come to realize that you can still fight for justice and truth without having to wear a habit. I just chose to wear a push-up bra instead.

"Some people might call me a sinner and blame me for my Bad Habits, but I prefer to look at myself like a student in this awesome school called life," she added. (ANI)
