    ISM dances away study blues

It was time to express themselves, and express they did!

Budding managers of Institute of Science and Management (ISM)-Pundag, unleashed their creative side on Wednesday, as they danced, crooned and acted during the daylong cultural fest, Abhivyakti, which means expression.

The chief guest was Assembly Speaker C.P. Singh, who urged the students to be sensitive towards society. "Instead of focusing on self-development, the students should also contribute to the development of society so that marginalised groups are benefited," Singh said while addressing the gathering.

The fest kicked off with a tribute to music legend Bhupen Hazarika, who passed away last year. The students performed to the late singer's popular number, Oh Ganga Behti Ho Kyun.

Bollywood then took over the stage with a sizzling performance to the song Ishq Sufiana from the movie Dirty Picture. Neha Mishra and Atul Tiwary floored the audience with many calling for an encore.

The fusion dance in which participants copied the varied styles of Bollywood actors from the late 80s till present times was also a huge hit.

This was followed by a skit, which depicted the problems faced by a shy engineering student and how his teacher helps him to come out of the shell, rendition of a Holi song and recitation.

"We deserved this much-required break. Such kind of event is a first on the campus and we had a lot of fun," gushed second-year management student Manish Kumar.

Programme coordinator Rituja Shukla gave the credit of the success show to the students themselves.

"They put in their best to make the fest successful. We hope to organise similar programmes in the coming years," Shukla added.
