Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), a break-away group of Shiv Sena, was not a rebellion, said Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday.
Uddhav did not name anybody, but said in an apparent reference to Raj, his estranged cousin, "Many who came into contact with (Sena chief) Balasaheb Thackeray had their lives transformed as if touched by a philosopher's stone. But some began to feel they were greater than the Sena founder."
"This (MNS) is not a rebellion, or even a movement. It is just wiggling," he said, speaking at a function to commemorate 40 years of the party's labour wing, Bharatiya Kamgar Sena.
Raj left Sena to found MNS after a tussle over Sena's leadership with Uddhav two years ago.
On the controversy about cheerleaders, Uddhav said, "Vilasrao (Maharashtra CM) says don't look. Sharad Pawar (NCP chief and BCCI President) says do not pay heed. You can manage that, not ordinary people. Your talent for looking away has cost the state a great deal."
About loan-waivers for farmers, he said that despite announcement of the Rs 60,000-crore package, no benefit has reached the peasants yet.
