Culture Minister Ambika Soni said she has received the report on Ram Setu from a committee of eminent persons and experts on the subject and she needs more time to study it before sending the document to the Union Cabinet for taking further action.
The committee formed following a directive from the apex court was asked to submit its report within three months whether Ram Setu was a man-made structure or a natural formation, she said.
The Archaeological survey of India should a make a thorough investigation in this regard to bring the truth before the people, she said.
Soni admitted the Ministry headed by her had earlier wrongly filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court regarding the Ram Setu which was later withdrawn.
She said no political party should exploit this issue for gaining political mileage.
