China Red Cross Society moves to serve Games

Berlin, May 8 (Xinhua) Beijing: The Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) is launching a week-long philanthropy campaign here to coincide with the World Red Cross Day Thursday, with activities mostly focussed on volunteer work for the Beijing Olympics in August.

The campaign, under the theme of 'Joining hands for humanitarian work and serving the Olympics', features galas, emergency aid rehearsals and knowledge contests. Meanwhile, RCSC is organising other activities in other Olympics host cities including distributing in each city 150,000 pamphlets on first aid and getting involved with logo design, said Lei Shumin, a RCSC official.
