MUMBAI: An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft flying 127 passengers from New Delhi suffered a bird hit while landing at the Bangalore airport, PTI reports.
The incident did not cause any harm to the passengers and there was no damage to the aircraft.
The aircraft later took off for its return journey to New Delhi.
Bangalore airport officials said that in spite of being hit by a bird, the aircraft made a normal landing.
Air India has become the fifth airline in the world to have the fuel-efficient and eco-friendly aircraft. The aircraft is made of composite materials. Its newly-developed engine and advanced flight technologies make it highly fuel-efficient. The plane can fly up to 16,000 km non-stop.
Air India received the first Dreamliner Sep 8 after a wait of four years. The carrier was to get the delivery in May 2008, but that got pushed forward due to a variety of reasons, including manufacturing delays.
Air India had booked 27 Boeing 787s in 2006 in a mega-deal.
Cruiser motorcycles might not be very popular in India, but there is still a segment of buyers who prefer to buy these body style of bikes. While there is little option at the lower end of the segment, at high price brackets there are quite a few alternatives. Earlier this year, DSK Motowheels launched the Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro, which offers quite a lot to the cruiser enthusiast. Priced at Rs. 5.46 lakhs (Mumbai), the GV650 is significant value.
