Our skin gets drastically affected by ultra violet radiations that cause tanning, wrinkles, degeneration of skin and premature ageing. A photo facial offers a solution to these skin problems by providing a treatment that uses laser light.

The treatment which is recommended for people above the age of 30 uses the IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) machine which lets out xenon light to target the collagen tissue, stimulating and redistributing it around the selected area. It removes spots, fine lines and wrinkles.

The toned and youthful look lasts longer than what a normal facial gives because the latter targets the superficial layer of the skin whereas a photo facial penetrates the skin and targets the tissue within. The treatment is painless and requires 45 minutes.

Dr Anjali Sharma of Clinic Dermatech says that the method starts with cleansing and the application of a cooling gel. "A thin layer of cooling gel is applied after which the face is treated with laser light with the appropriate pulse rate.

The treatment has no side effects and one should undergo it after every one and a half months. The effects show immediately," she says.

The patients are advised to use a sun block and not to wash their face with hot water.
