A woman was seriously injured when some goons threw her out of a moving train near Jarwal Road on Sunday night. The Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case under section 5 (D) of the Railway Act and Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code against unidentified persons.

According to sources, Usha (40), a resident of Mathapur village in Deoria district, was travelling in the Bagh Express with her husband Abhay Kumar Shrivastava and four children. Near Jarwal Road about half a dozen goons boarded the train and tried to take away their luggage when the family was sleeping.

Usha woke up and resisted them, but they pulled her out of the compartment and threw her out of the running train. Despite sustaining severe injuries after her fall, Usha managed to walk to the Jarwal railway station in that condition and informed the authorities.

Meanwhile, Abhay and the children came to know that Usha was missing only when they woke up near Chowkaghat railway station. They informed the Barabanki stationmaster when the train stopped there.

On enquiry from various railway stations, they came to know that she was lying injured at the Jarwal road railway station. Her husband Abhay came back to Jarwal and admitted his wife to a private hospital there and filed a complaint with the GRP..
