By now everyone knows that the rising global food prices are the result of the burgeoning Indian middle class. Don't believe us? Ask Mr George W Bush, President of the United States of America, who says, ".
when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food, and so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up." For almost a decade now, Bush has been the favourite whipping-boy of internet humour.
But sometimes, the things he (and his colleagues) say are just not funny. Take for instance a recent incident on a TV show, where Stephen Hadley, Bush's National Security Advisor, kept referring to Tibet as Nepal.
Did we tell you, he 'advices' Bush? Perhaps that explains why Bush called Pakistan an Arab country in 2006. We know he meant the Muslim world, but Presidents aren't supposed to make such mistakes.
In 1999, a reporter with WHDH-TV asked Bush one simple question - to name of the leaders of Chechnya, Taiwan, India and Pakistan. For Pakistan his reply was "the General", "the guy who took over office", and for India he ended with, "uh.
no". He may not have known the name of our prime minister, but Bush certainly remembered to name his black cat 'India Bush' ten years ago! Bush bloopers have been doing the rounds for a while now.
Some of his most famous one-liners are - "I know how hard it is for you to put food on your family"; "They misunderestimated me"; "Human beings and fish can coexist peacefully"; "I am the master of low expectations". "Too many good docs are getting out of the business.
Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." His keen sense of economics could certainly rival Marie Antoinette of 'give them cake' fame.
