CPI (M) POLITBURO member Sitaram Yechury on Friday said that the Maoist, which has emerged as the largest party in the Constituent Assembly elections, will move ahead to form the new government by joining hands with other democratic parties. Yechury, who was in Kathmandu to congratulate the Maoist leadership on their victory in the Constituent Assembly election, claimed that the next government in Nepal will be formed as per people's mandate.

"The issue of forming government is up to the political leaders of Nepal. We hope that people's mandate will be respected," said the CPI (M) leader, who played a pro-active role in Nepal's peace process.

The communist leader claimed that Nepal can begin a new political beginning by emerging as a strong democratic republic. "I hope that members of the Constituent Assembly would play a pro-active role in writing the new constitution of Nepal," Yechury said.

During the last two days, Yechury met Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, Maoist chief Prachanda, chief of United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN) Ian Martin, and other political leaders.
