Who's day?

From students to the office goers, everyone had a perfect midweek break - in the name of those who never knew it was their day - Labour Day! At nearly 43 and #176; Celsius, it was a perfect start to the month of May in the Capital, and most Delhites were in no hurry to scamper back to work - it was a holiday after all, courtesy the May Day! Like many other facts of life, most Indians are blissfully unaware that this untimely holiday is actually a day to recognise the labour workforce's relentless service towards the nation. But, who cares and #8230;So the little Kamleshs and Sunnys were all out selling handkerchiefs to belts, while others were busy washing utensils at the roadside stalls.

Even 12 year-old Sudhir is busy allocating parking slots to the early visitors at Sarojini Nagar market. So the memsahebs and babus can keep strolling leisurely - well, loves labour can't be lost.

Love for the labours can be. "It's sad, but what can be done?" questions college student Shruti.

"Ministers and bureaucrats, who are liable to implement these, should come and see," opines another collegian Minakshi. But aren't we all responsible? Anyway, too much thinking is bad for health.

So let's chill - "Oye chhotu, thanda la.".
