Jeffrey Archer to tour India

Famous for Kane and Abel, bestselling British author Jeffrey Archer is all set to add an Indian summer to his impressive line-up of works. Archer will come to India next month in a tour organised by Landmark, promoting his latest novel, A Prisoner of Birth.

The book is already being hailed as the author's, "most powerful work after Kane and Abel" and deals with a man charged with murder who escapes prison to re-establish himself.

Archer has first-hand experience of life in a cell, having done time in prison himself. The blogosphere is heating up with the prospect of the author's first ever visit to the country.

blogspot.com , announcing his India trip, Archer writes, "Back on Wednesday with a hectic fortnight ahead of me before flying to India next month for another tour.

I guess that will be very different to Australia and America." What's even more fascinating is the response to his India tour announcement.

A blogger (Adit Minda) writes, "My excitement for your arrival in India has reached to its peak. I am reading A Prisoner of Birth and as expected it is brilliant.

Eagerly waiting for your arrival." The next one to follow asks, "What do you make of the new Indian Premier League cricket - will you catch a game while you are in India?" to which Archer responds, "My Indian tour is just being finalised now, so I don't know if I'll catch any of the cricket - but I hope so!" Archer will be in Delhi on May 17.
