Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi has walked out of Bobby Bedi's Mahabharat. the director announced that he would no longer be a part of the epic soap.

He stated that he couldn't cope with the stress and unrealistic deadlines. But if the buzz is to be believed, Dwivedi quit to join hands with Ekta Kapoor who is also making Mahabharat, presumably for 9X. Racing ahead According to a source in the unit, he hasn't met Kapoor for the past 10 years and there's no way he will team up with her.

Both TV channels are in a race to air the epic first and grab TRPs. "We are at an advanced stage of preparation and have three film units working on the project.

We'll be the first one on the block," says the source. He adds that the unit was upset when Dwivedi announced his decision.

"There were heated arguments but he was under a lot of pressure to wrap up shoots fast even when props like chariots were not available. Speaking from Ooty, Dwivedi confirmed that he will not be joining Kapoor.

"That's a completely baseless rumour," he maintained, adding that once Bobby Bedi returns from New York he would speak to him about his reasons for quitting and did not rule out returning to the set.
