New kid in town

The latest in Sony Ericsson's range of Walkman phones - W910i - has introduced a 'shake it' feature without overlooking others. Build quality At a mere 86 grams, the featherweight phone perfectly fits in the hand.

The side casing is metal and the keypad has smooth plastic buttons. Screen The screen, which is the highlight of this phone, has the perfect size for basic browsing and picture viewing.

Speaker and headset The only hitch - poor inbuilt speakers. The volume could have been louder (knowing Ericsson's history).

The W910i distorts the bass sounds when you turn on the MegaBass equaliser. Walkman The walkman and the general media interface of this handset has been redesigned.

The shake control and screen auto orientation features are quite cool. Functionality All the features can be accessed without having to open the slider.

Shake control It makes much of the 'shake control', which allows you to switch tracks by shaking the phone like a polaroid picture. Battery What comes as a surprise is its strength.

(An avenue where Nokia music phones lack). Camera The fact that the camera has no flash means it's almost useless in the night.

If anyone is looking for a serious camera in a phone, this one is so not for you.
