"A massive demonstration will be held in Delhi on December 30 by the people and saints from all over the country. It will initiate a 'fight to the finish' on the Ram Setu issue," VHP international president Ashok Singhal declared here on Wednesday.
He was addressing a huge audience including saints and political leaders in large numbers present at the death anniversary celebration of Swami Jagannath Das and Swami Poorna Das, saints belonging to the Jagannath Dham. While offering their tributes to the saints, most speakers harped on subjects dear to the RSS and VHP. The Ashram mahant Swami Hans Das is an RSS activist.
The saints and political leaders alike expressed concern over attempts to demolish the Ram Setu, surreptitious moves to destroy our culture, politicians bending over backwards to appease the minorities, cow slaughter and affront to Hindus in various parts of the world. The political leaders included state Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri, most of his Cabinet members, Speaker Harbansh Kapoor and many state BJP leaders.
RSS chief K.S. Sudersan, VHP general secretary Praveen Bhai Togadia and several RSS pracharaks were also present.
