Guwahati, Feb. 22: Gauhati Town Club wound up their second division I-League campaign with a 3-2 win against SESA Football Academy, Goa, in Cuttack today.
With the win, GTC ended up with six points, winning two out of seven matches they played. Those who scored the goals for GTC were Thomba Singh in the 15th minute, John Sonowal in the 36th minute and K. Kamei in the 76th minute.
For SESA, Vale Rodrigues scored in the 55th minute and Prapesh in the last minute.
Golf tourney
The 51 Sub Area Golden Jubilee Golf Tournament will be held at Rhino Environment Park and Training Area at Narengi here on Sunday. Chief minister Tarun Gogoi will be the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
Veterans' cricket: Cyclone veteran registered a two-wicket victory against Reyoungster Veterans to enter the final of the 9th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground.
Reyoungster batted first and put up 136/10 from 35 overs. Cyclone reached the target, losing eight wickets from 32.3 overs.
Shashikumar Singh of Cyclone bagged the Man of the Match title for his 30 runs and two wickets.
The final match between Cyclone veteran and Champ Khagempalli will be played on February 28.
Football training: A 15-dayfootball development programme, initiated by the Imphal West District Football Association, got under way at four venues simultaneously at Sekmai, YWC Malom, CYLC Singjamei and Mayang Imphal.
