You actually are not under any obligation to declare that you are meeting anyone, unless asked directly of course. If you can show strong ties, enough money to fund your trip without having to rely on a third party for funds, you should have no problem.
If your b/f is funding your trip, that may cause a problem, particularly if you haven't met him yet. Immigration officers do not consider internet relationships as real and there is no guarantee that this person would not leave you destitute if you are relying on him supporting you.
