If you are a Non Resident Indian (NRI) with a bank account in the country, it is advisable that you are aware of all the existing tax rules as far as NRIs are concerned.
A billion other Indians are already trying this. No room for a fraction of you. Not to mention a couple billion more from elsewhere also trying to get into US, Canada, Australia, NZ, UK & the rest of the EU.
US, UK, EU, et alia, are collapsing under the strain of too many immigrants and their high costs.
US: over 31 million Americans looking for work. Real unemployment rate 23%. A couple weeks ago I ran into 2 engineers, recent grads of top US engineering schools in top 10% of their classes, and they cannot find any job at all after more than a year of searching. Engineering is NOT any "magic ticket" to a job in US. Neither is MBA - only 20% of American grads the past several years have been able to find any kind of work at all within a year after graduation.
Canada: Legal permanent residents (PR) who immigrated to Canada began complaining bitterly end-2011 that after a year or more of intensive job search, despite their degrees & experience, they've been able to find NO work of any kind whatsoever.
NZ: half of NZ university graduates have to look for jobs abroad for lack of work in NZ.
Get the picture? Worldwide labor glut of a billion adults - a billion more adults actively seeking employment than there are jobs in the entire world. Another billion already on track to enter world's workforces within a decade. India is the world's largest single contributor to the worldwide labor glut - even though it is the only large economy left which is actually creating new jobs.
Frankly, India needs better engineers. Your buildings keep collapsing. "Indian Engineering" is the title of an e-mail round-robin joke, and it is hysterically funny! Especially the photos of examples of Indian engineering works. Remember the World Cup "showpiece" which was supposed to show the world that Indian engineering was the latest & greatest? People around the world are still ROTFLTAO. So are you really ready to compete for scarce jobs on the world stage? The competition is very stiff when there are a billion more jobhunters than jobs.- ibu guru
Many of us want to settle in countries like that. But why should those countries allow us?
Any country, including India, would invite someone to come and settle in their country, if they know that the person they are inviting will be an asset to their country and would enrich their society with the expertise the immigrant would bring along with him.
You would find it easy if you have such skills that help their society and enrich them.
Go to the websites of those Governments and see if you are eligible for a temporary work visa to start with and for permanent residency in those countries.
Edit: I salute ibu guru for his very clear answer. I do not agree with him though, on his unkind remarks about Indians. Indian engineers certainly are NOT claimants on EU, UK and other countries' welfare benefits. You all know who they are. If you do not, listen to Michael Savage. LOL.- 66
You look like you just want to ''escape'' your country.
Ignore the others. Its your life. If you want to immigrate sure. Pick a particular country, have a goal.- Mr. T SkitZ
