Pak PM Gilani indicted for contempt of court

    Islamabad, Feb 13 (IANS)

Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is indicted for contempt of court for failing to reopen graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.

There was tight security as the prime minister reached the court premises, reported Geo News.

Gilani has refused to write to the Swiss authorities to recover money allegedly stashed away by the president, as directed by the Supreme Court, arguing that Zardari enjoys immunity under the constitution.

Accused of graft, Zardari had been granted amnesty under the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) in 2007 by then president Pervez Musharraf to facilitate his return and, primarily, that of his wife, former prime minister Benazir Bhutto from self-exile.

The NRO that granted immunity to politicians and bureaucrats in corruption cases was struck down as void in 2009.

These pakistani generals and leaders have made lot of money and kept in swiss banks at the cost of poor pakistani citizens. They have brought this country to chaotic conditions. Supreme court is right the money belong to the people of pakistan and should be brought back. All the pakistinies staying abroad should voluntarily send such money the that nations treasury and live like ordinary pakistani.

The Pak SC deserves a big pat on the back.

Its time the Indian SC take a leaf from the Pak SC and direct the Union Govt to make public the list and prosecute those who have laundered money into Swiss accounts.

Sorry Pakis, your illicit relationship with your army and judiciary with an inbuilt anti-India mindset is the root cause of all your illness. One cannot help you guys unless you help yourselves.
