Fun mantra for exams

The hope that keeps most students glued to their books weeks before the board exams is the free time they would get once the test clock stops ticking over their head. Good marks is their expectation but good time with best friends is the factor that keeps them motivated to prepare well. Smita Kumar takes a peek into the examinees' jubilation dream once the storm called boards blows over

Destination Ranchi

Nupur Prakash, a Class XII student of DAV, BSEB would head straight for Ranchi once her exams are over. Her uncle and aunt stay there. Confident of performing well in her exams, Nupur has already planned the post-exams party.

"I will stay with my uncle and aunt in Ranchi. As soon as my exams are over, I'll visit their place after which the real fun will begin. I'll visit the Pahari Mandir in Ranchi. I love climbing those stairs. Though it's tiring, it's a lot of fun too," she said.

But why is climbing stairs so exciting? "I compete with my relatives and cousins to reach the temple first," she added.

Sandbar fun

Ankita Singh's life has become dry, literally. She is not being able to take a splash in the Ganga or visit the sandbar, her favourite fun destination in her hometown.

Once her Class X examinations are over, the first thing she would do is to visit these places and have a splash. The Carmel High School girl has a big gang, including 10 classmates. She is sure all of them would join her in the fun. "Sandbar on the Ganga banks is among the coolest places around. Water sports facilities there are so much fun. Moreover, it is easily accessible," she said.

Ankita would also head for Bangalore and meet her cousins. When is she planning to be back? "Before the exam results are published," she said.

Dubai calling

Noorussabah Khan is not going to settle for trips to the sandbar or Bangalore. The Class X student of Notre Dame Academy wants to head straight for Dubai. "As soon as the board exams are over, I'll go to Dubai to meet my parents. I love to go on camel and horse rides there. There can be nothing better than the Arabian desert where you can go long camel rides," she said.

Noorussabah has more than camel rides on her mind. "Dubai is also known as shopping paradise," she said with a grin running from ear to ear.

"It is going to be exciting," she added.

Guitar lessons

Shushant Raj loves music, especially guitar. But, like many of his friends, the Class X students of St Karen's Secondary School has been waiting for the right time to pursue his passion.

"I have been craving to learn how to play guitar for a long time. My friend Aditya plays the instrument extremely well. He has inspired me to learn guitar," he said. But the plan is on hold for the moment. "Once they (the exams) are over, I would learn how to play guitar," he added.

Cook and dance medley

Neha Rani is planning a self-prepared treat for herself after her Class X board examinations are over. The Carmel High School student plans to learn the art of cooking from her mother. "I have always been inclined to learn the recipe of Indian dishes, but never really got the time to pursue my interest," she said.

She has another passion ' dancing. She wants to express her love for Indian culture with Bharatnatyam moves.
