Court has not blamed PM in 2G scam: Pawar

Mumbai, Feb 3 (IANS) Union Agriculture Minister and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar Friday defended Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, saying that the Supreme Court verdict cancelling 2G licences was not a denunciation of the government.

"The court has taken note of the PM's letter to then telecom minister A. Raja to ensure fairness and transparency in spectrum allocation," Pawar told reporters here.

"The Supreme Court has noted that the prime minister had done his job. Hence, the prime minister of the UPA government cannot be blamed," he added.

Pawar, however, said that verdict has brought disrepute to the government and that the said ministers will now tend to be cautious in their approach, which might thereby delay the decision-making process.

Hinting at the verbal fight between his nephew and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Congress leader Narayan Rane ahead of the Maharashtra civic polls, Pawar said that restraint must be exercised while speaking in public meetings.

He advised NCP leaders to avoid any personal comments even if the opposite party is making incendiary speeches.

Pawar also rubbished allegations on NCP leaders and termed them as baseless.

Asked to comment on allegations of former aviation minister Praful Patel accepting bribes from a Canadian national, Pawar dismissed the allegation saying that the question of bribery does not arise.

The apex court is having probity in not naming the PM and other functionaries. Incidentally they are not as shameless as the PM or for that matter Sharad Pawar or his other cronies.

CVG was struck down which was appointed by the PM himself and now 2G - The PM heads the govt and thus is responsible for appointing wrong people and allowing the country to be looted.

In the first place, we, as responsible citizens of our beloved motherland, ought to be fair in all practical & reasonable perspectives. On the same lines and on thorough, proper & due
exhaustive application by any patriot his / her mind, or for that matter, common sense, can anyone please clarify or, rather, justify as to why Sharad Pawar is not figuring in it at all as a criminal co-accused with Chidambaram ??? The real life Indian "DON", SHARAD PAWAR'S clear involvement, may be indirect, in the unprecedented mind-boggling mega-2G scam was for everyone to realise beyond any figment of doubt, when the fully justified indictment of the accused Balwas and Baramati (Sharad Pawar's traditional constituency and home-town and close to him allegedly as long-time family friends) based Goenkas has taken place in the trial court. Even in the latest case of the wicked Telgi Revenue Stamp Mega-Scam, the same thing, brazenly & shamelessly, was allowed to happen. Why blessed Sharad Pawar, the real life most crooked & wicked don, is allowed to be let off the hook criminally, time & again ???

Will the court name the people individually?. The court condemned the government in totality. Is PM,PC, Pavar are not members of the government? What a shameless people we have with us.

P.M.O., and not the P.M.himself ,is responsible for sitting on an application seeking sanction for prosecuting a Minister for 16 months.Similarly ,the Minister, and not the Prime Minister, is responsible for issuing 122 2G Spectrum illegal licences although there was a hue and cry from all quarters since long that foul play is being done. The P.M. is not responsible because he did not like to hear evil and did not want to see evil being a perfect gandhian.National Exchequer has been put to loss to lacs of crores of rupees but it is most important that P.M. followed Gandhiji. As Kalyug advances, the most corrupt people, even after exposure, donot feel ashamed and sit at home but are shouting that they have done nothing wrong as by taking bribes they have made mobile charges quite cheap and now by exposing corruption it is the public who would suffer by paying more.It appears that corruption has to still seek a peak .

Does it mean that Sonia is responsible and not PM ? It seems so . Well Pawar got a point.

When a child makes a mistake, it's parents are equally responsible. Same way, anything goes wrong in his cabinet, PM is equally responsible. Till SC squashed 122 licences, they uttered nothing went wrong and there was no loss to the exchequer. After SC's verdict, they are saying, it is the fault of Raja, not PM and HM. How foolish these congi people I don't understand.

Yes, Pawar expects a specific indiction. That is the level our Politicians have descended to. He does not understand the underlying statement of judgement that either the P.M. is incapable of knowing things going around him or does not want to know them. After all, the P.M. is supposed to have a Private Secretary whose duty is to alert the P.M. of all important, including unsavoury, things going around him and his cabinet.

As along as they get their money and position they are just useless chamchaas . What happened to 2G money where is it . We dont want licence cancell , arrest of innocent ministers and covering of currupt ministers and dramas / Where is the public money from the 2G looting . Thatis all

Normally people lose their senses when they grow old. Mr. Pawar is no exception to it.

Our PM is a technocrat and "Quiet Giant"- a living example of honesty, sincerety, integrity and visionery. Every Indian feels proud of their PM. May God bless him with long life.

This pig called SP is a demon who should have met Harvinder Singh long long back and tackled in Naturam Godsey’s way instead of just a tight slap. PM is unaware of the happenings going under his nose and hence he is not responsible – very shocking ! Parents are equally responsible for the misdeeds of children (like theft, rape, criminal acts) and just cannot escape by saying that they were ignorant about their children’s activities. What moral right MMS has to be in PM’s chair, he should have immediately stepped down. More skeletons will now come out from the cupboard of Congress. Its high time these rouges have been deceiving Indians and depriving them of their moral rights and bread-butter. These rouges should be hanged in open ground like Arabs do, so that others will learn lesson after seeing the capital punishments to the accused in broad day light in public. Till now these idiots tried to convince that there is no loss to the Govt. in 2G, but now all know the loss to the nation and innocent public. Simply cancellation of licences is not sufficient. The loot money should be recovered by liquidizing their assets, all should be given capital punishment, debarred from politics (even their family members) and prosecute each and every person involved directly / indirectly and punish them according to the nature of corruption. The rascal who is defending PM has also got his share and hence all these chors are defending each other. This rascal gets his cuts in real state mafia, octroil, toll tax (all contracts of toll are bagged by him), food scam, corruption in sports, corruption in agricultural produce – onion and tomatoes were sold at Rs.100/- and above, 2G scam, and many other scams and corruptions which will now surface one-by-one. We need real patriots in Parliament and state to run our nation – like Anna Hazare, Dr S. Swamy, Baba Ramdev, Mrs. Roy, Mr Prashant Bhushan, Mr Arvind Kejriwal and other like minded persons, and of course, the struggle led by Team Anna against anti-graft should be strengthened and we should lend full support in achieving Lokpal Bill and unmask these criminals.
