Congress will win in Uttar Pradesh polls: Manmohan Singh

Kanpur, Feb 17 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Friday expressed confidence that the Congress Party will win in the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, and said that the state will once move ahead on the path of development under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

"The election is approaching and the winds are in favour of the Congress. I believe that the Congress will win in the elections. Uttar Pradesh will once again move forward under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi," Dr. Singh told a gathering here.

Dr. Singh also criticized Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Government in the state and her predecessor Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for not paying attention to development of the state.

"When I look at the development in Uttar Pradesh, it appears that in the last 22 years, the state is going backwards. The unemployment is increasing, the supply of water and electricity and the condition of roads is getting worse," said Dr. Singh.

"At one time, Uttar Pradesh had very good educational institutes, but now it has also gone down," he said, adding that Kanpur was one regarded as the 'Manchester of the East' for its trade prowess.

The Prime Minister further alleged that the central funds being sent for the development of the common man do not reach them.

"We have sent funds under various national schemes to Uttar Pradesh. Rs 24000 crore have been given to Uttar Pradesh government for roads alone. However, none of it has trickled down to the common man," said Dr. Singh.

The Uttar Pradesh polls are being viewed as an opportunity for major parties to re-establish their foothold in the country's fifth largest and most populous state. new 403-member state assembly will be elected in March. The poll results will broadly indicate trends for the 2014 general elections. (ANI)

This national liability and disgrace to a human being does not know ABC of economics. He must have got his PhD too by chamchagiri. His UPA has established world records in scams and still he acts as if he is a saint. He was part of Paki BCCI scam and now 2G scam too.

I have yelling for 20 years about the Zero knowledge of Manmohan in Economics, right from the day he spoke as FM when he broke into politics by sheer fate and luck (the great IG Patel, declined Narasimha Rao's first offer to him to become FM. Bad luck to India. During those days, he spoke like an idiot, esp when Harshad Mehtha ran amock in Stock market with his notorious and irresponsible statement that he need not lose his sleep over unnatural volatility in Stock market, which does not affect common man or the economy)
You have realized it very late

What a "slavish" statement made by our beloved Man Mohanji about Sonia and Rahul. What have they done for this country? Tell one item, not this bill and that bill. How can Congressmen in general and Msan Mohanji in particular tolerate the rise of Mother, two children, one- son-in-law, two grandchildren, just just because they bear the name Gandhi, that too which Gandhi?

As far as we know, sardars are better known for their bravery & courage, which our beloved PM lacks. Now he is being considered a black spot in the name of Sardars.Only the other day,it was understood from the news channel that Kanpur has lot of Sardars, thatswhy PM wanted to kickoff his election rally from Kanpur. So what?Punjabis do not support cowards and puppets as well. They are patriots and support only the patriotic parties.Probably our PM is living in illusion.Entire nation knows as a PM how much he has contributed to the country.

If MMS is so sure that the funds sent by the centre to UP have disappeared, why the centre didnot hold the UP government accountable? why he didnot investigate? where the funds have gone? where is his governance?

The moot question is not who will win. The point is who will give an effective and clean governance. PM-ji please perform in the seat of power at the Centre before attempting your UPA empire. You are not able to control inflation (being an economist who once headed RBI), eliminate unbelievably mammoth seams, get back the tons of black money abroad. control law and order, implement an effective Lokpal, give an effective governance, maintain forex stability, deal properly with diplomatic issues quickly and well .... Please tell us what you can do so that we stop expecting. Please act and do not just talk.

Dear Mr. Prime Minister.....you're dreaming...imagining things....of course you always have an excuse..."I WAS MIS-LEAD....I WAS MIS-INFORMED.....I WAS NOT AWARE"....Mr. Prime Minister, you should have quit politics after UPA 1 when your respect was all time high. Unfortunate for you, Mrs. Gandhi kept you there to reserve the seat for her beloved son and in the process, you lost all the restect you had. Sadly, all the great respect you had earned during your lifetime is lost in the last 5 years. I had so much respect for you during UPA 1.....cannot say that today, though. With the current track record of the Congress......do not PREDICT victory in any state.
