London, Sept. 30 (ANI): Nearly a dozen organized child sex exploitation rings are being investigated across the United Kingdom, accused of grooming children for sex.
Scotland Yard estimates that nearly 5,000 children have been affected by grooming gangs in Britain.
Last week, a report revealed how girls as young as 13 were let down by police and social workers, who dismissed them as prostitutes after they were targeted for sex by nine Asian men in Rochdale.
According to express.co.uk, a report from the Children's Commissioner's Inquiry published in November is set to expose the shocking levels of child sex exploitation.
Deputy children's commissioner Sue Berelowitz said it will, for the first time, bring a national perspective to "these appalling acts against children".
"It is critical statutory agencies listen to children when they tell people they are being abused," she said. (ANI)
