New Delhi, Oct 28 (ANI): Anti-graft activist turned politician Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said the reshuffle of the Union Cabinet was an eyewash and would not benefit the common man of the country.
Kejriwal also said the people would continue to suffer from graft and inflation.
"There will be absolutely no impact on the people of this country of this cabinet reshuffle. People were earlier also facing rising prices and corruption and that is likely to continue. It is basically musical chairs, that a person was a law minister earlier, now he or she may become external affairs minister. But there would be no impact on the people of this country," said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal also said the ministers who were facing corruption allegations were still around and some of them have been elevated.
"All the people who are facing corruption would continue as ministers. For example there are allegations of corruption against Salman Khurshid, against Chidambaram, against Sriprakash Jaiswal, against Kapil Sibal and all these people will continue as ministers. So it will be life as usual. It is just that their chairs are being changed," Kejriwal added.
Meanwhile, Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said that as long as the leadership of the government remained unchanged, merely shuffling cabinet berths was futile.
"Undoubtedly, the team which is playing today and the team that will play tomorrow have the same captain and coach. So it would make no difference if the players would be changed. Even the new faces, which are there would have to live in the shadow of corruption and scams. So, I don't see any big change would happen with this reshuffle," Naqvi said.
