London, Feb 16(ANI): A London-based news agency has claimed that a Pakistan army official, brigadier Ali Khan, who will face a court martial for his ties with a banned extremist group, was brainwashing his counterparts to incite mutiny.
The foreign news agency further said that Ali has been charged with mutiny.
The Pakistan Army decided to court-martial Khan for his alleged links with theHizb-ut-Tahrir, The News reports.
The summary of formal charges against Khan has been finalised and his court martial is expected to begin soon, Geo News quoted sources, as saying.
Khan, who was serving as Director for Rules and Regulations at the army's headquarters in Rawalpindi, was arrested in 2011, triggering concerns about the presence of sympathizers for extremist groups in the Pakistani military.
The Pakistan Army had earlier confirmed that it was interrogating four military officials in connection with Khan's arrest. (ANI)
