Borsalino for 2000G

Calcutta: Trainer S. Padmanabhan comes to the city with another champion galloper, Borsalino, having done wonders with his filly, In The Spotlight, last winter. Borsalino takes on five rivals, including her 1000 Guineas winning stable-mate, Chase The Sun, in Saturday's main attraction, the 1,600m Calcutta 2000 Guineas. Borsalino (David Allan-up) may not be in the league of the all-conquering In The Spotlight but the colt's Classic wins in the southern circuit the Bangalore summer Derby and the Hyderabad Derby ' does make him cut above the rest. Although, the Choisir-Running Flame son is yet to win over a shorter Classic but, again, he does not need to worry about the likes of Tintinnabulations and Snowscapes over the Guineas' trip.
