SYDNEY, Australia (AP) _ Brett Hodgson, captain of the Wests Tigers in Australia's National Rugby League, will join English Super League club Huddersfield on a two-year deal at the end of the 2008 season. Hodgson, in his 12th NRL season, was a member of the Tigers' premiership team in 2005.
"It's a new chapter in my footballing career and in my life as well," Hodgson said Thursday. "It's disappointing to obviously be leaving the Tigers where I've had wonderful memories in the last five years.
" Off-contract, Hodgson said the salary cap and little interest from other NRL clubs had made it an easy decision. He played 212 first-grade and six State of Origin matches for New South Wales.
