Srinagar, June 3 (ANI): An art workshop, organized on the banks of the Dal Lake here on Sunday provided a much needed platform to locals to showcase their artistic talent.
The workshop included an art exhibition, puppetry, filmmaking, singing and story telling competitions, open- air folk theatre and dance and drama performances by local theatre artistes.
Interacting with mediapersons, Abir Gupta, one of the organisers of the workshop, said the motive of the workshop was to help people to exchange their ideas and showcase their talents.
"Since the time we are associated with this, we have always wanted to create such a platform where young people can express their feelings, where they can exchange their ideas, where you sometimes pick up a skill. The central focus is not only to create a platform but also to provide mediums, within which you can express" Gupta said.
The spectators believed that the workshop has provided a platform to the local professional and non-professional artistes.
"It is such a good opportunity and this is the best thing that is happening to people," said Ahmad Dev, a tourist. (ANI)
