Calcutta: Trainer Vijay Singh's seven-year-old Arktouros is fancied the win the 2,000m Monsoon Cup, Friday's main attraction in the eight-event card. The last time out, the Diffident son, had gone down narrowly to his owner-mate, Unleashed, a five-year-old, trained by Darius Byramji. The re-allocated weights, however, favour Arktouros, who will be partnered by B. Mahesh.

The 1,200m No Regrets Cup, may also witness a renewed contest between Accurate and Amaretto who is also out to settle a score against his recent defeat. The revised weights favour Amaretto who, this time, will be ridden by young Shezad Khan, and not an experienced Imran Chisty. It's going to an exciting contest, though Shezad is going to be under immense pressure to deliver the goods against another crack jockey, Shailesh Shinde, partnering Accurate. Blazing Spectacle, with a big pull at weights, may upset.
