Dhaka, May 20(ANI): Bangladesh's court granted citizenship to Bihari Muslims in Bangladesh, drawing praise from the community. The High Court ruled on Sunday (May 18), following a petition by a group of Bihari Muslims stating that the children who were minor in 1971 or born after the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan should be granted citizenship.
The court ruled that they are also eligible to be enrolled as voters in Bangladesh.
