Mustard blossoms in full bloom in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, May 17(ANI): With mustard blossoms in full bloom, farmers in Jammu and Kashmir expect a bumper mustard seed harvest this year following good snowfall during winter. Mustard crop is cultivated during winter in an estimated 60 thousand hectares of paddy fields in the Kashmir Valley, which is about 40 per cent of the total area under paddy.

The crop is sown in September-October after paddy is harvested.
