Khambat, April 27(ANI): Agate industry workers in India's western Khambat, the commercial port of Gujarat, having fallen prey to silicosis are finding their woes compounded due to government apathy. In the past, many workers of the agate industry succumbed to silicosis, as dust generated while grinding and polishing the mineral accumulates in the lungs leading to the disease.

Silicosis is a respiratory disorder caused by prolonged inhalation of crystalline silica dust.
