    Ammonium nitrate seized in Jharkhand

    Ranchi, Feb 23 (IANS) Police seized 47 sacks of ammonium nitrate suspected to be meant for Maoists in Jharkhand's Pakur district Thursday, police said.

    The seizure was made from a house in Sitapahri village, around 500 km from Ranchi. The house owner escaped.

    Maoists are known to use ammonium nitrate to make bombs.
