Calcutta: Three-year-olds are likely to start as favourites in most of Tuesday's six-event card, including the afternoon's main attraction, the 1,100m Pentagon Cup. However, their performance in the open classes, during the ongoing season, have been very disappointing. It may not, therefore, may not come as a surprise if a couple of them bite the dust again.
Ocean Way, Atwater, Glynneath and Wild Card, for instance, have done reasonably well during the big season. In the feature event, they take on seasoned gallopers like Generous Thought and Exxin. However, trainer Vijay Singh's Atwater (C. Alford-up), being well in at the weights, may be able to beat the experienced seniors.
