Siemens Gigaset of Germany forays into India, launches cordless phones

Gigaset Communications, a manufacturer of cordless telephones under the brand Siemens Gigaset, has entered the Indian market with the launch of new premium cordless phones.

The European market leader, headquartered in Munich and with a primary production site in Bocholt (Germany), offers "stylish cordless phones" with broad functionality to Indian households.

The office is based in Mumbai and it will cater to the growing needs of Indian consumers in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata and so on, said a release. The new Siemens Gigaset phones are of superior quality and easy to use. They also prove their value for everyday use in households and small offices with their convenient features. The new models from Gigaset Communications are elegant and energy-efficient, the release added.

José Costa e Silva, CEO, Gigaset Communications, said they were delighted to have a presence in India. "We look forward to providing innovative and high quality products," Silva said.

It is a strategic move as the Indian telecommunications market is the fifth largest globally and second largest among emerging economies of Asia.
