Voltas net up 63 percent

Mumbai, July 21 (IANS) Tata Group promoted Voltas Ltd has announced a consolidated net profit after tax of $21.2 million (Rs.851.30 million) during the first quarter of fiscal year 2008, recording a growth of 63 percent over the corresponding period last year.

The company had recorded a figure of $13.04 million in the first quarter last year.

For the latest quarter ending June, the total income increased to $258.89 million (Rs. 10.35 billion) from $208.34 million (Rs.83.33 billion) in the corresponding quarter last year, an increase of 22 percent.
