The celebration of United Nations Day on October 23. The evening also marked the International year of Natural Fibres 2009 and had artisans display wares made of sustainable fibres.

The evening was attended by several ambassadors, UN officials and diplomats. UN Resident Coordinator Patrice Coeur-Bizot spoke about the UN's committment towards the development of local textiles. Also at the event were danseuse Geeta Chandran, Seher's Sanjeev Bhargava and Director, UN Information Centre for India Shalini Dewan, among several others.
