Mumbai, Nov. 7 -- Bhushan Tandel (25) lost his father in the November 26 terror attacks but his family is yet to get the full compensation from the Centre. Even the bank draft of Rs 3 lakh that he received in August as a part of the Centre's rehabilitation package did not get credited to his account. "The money came three days before the bank draft was to expire," said the Virar resident. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kirit Somaiya said there are 79 cases pending under the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. "The government has not yet sent their proposals [to the PM's relief fund]," Somaiya said. Somaiya will go on a hunger strike at the Vidhan Bhavan when the Assembly session begins.

Kumar said that in many cases people have moved out of the state or the country. A letter from the relief and rehabilitation department says that the collectors have been directed to submit the 79 pending cases to the PM's office immediately.
